  • BRS 52nd Regular Convention
    Elects Grand Lodge Officers

    BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS —
    On Wednesday, August 8, 2018, nearly 250 delegates to the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen’s 52nd Regular Convention elected 
    Floyd E. Mason as President of the BRS for the next four years. Brother Mason assumed the presidency of the BRS after serving as the Organization’s Vice President East. He was elected as Vice President Southeast in 1994, and was previously elected Vice President Headquarters in 1991. He was appointed to the position of Grand Lodge Representative in 1989.

    The delegates re-elected, by acclamation, Jerry C. Boles to the position of Secretary-Treasurer. He was elected to and held the office of Vice President Headquarters from June 29, 2001, until he was elected to the position of Secretary-Treasurer on October 10, 2011, fulfilling the unexpired term vacated by Walter Barrows, who left when he was appointed as Labor Member on the Railroad Retirement Board.

    The following are the results of the elections for the other BRS national offices conducted during the convention:

    Kelly Haley was re-elected Vice President Headquarters by acclamation.

    John D. Bragg was re-elected Vice President NRAB by acclamation.

    Mike Baldwin was re-elected Vice President West by acclamation.

    Jim Finnegan was re-elected Vice President Commuter/Passenger by acclamation.

    Tim Tarrant was elected Vice President East by acclamation. He served as Director of Research, after the position was vacated by Jim Finnegan after he was elected to Vice President of Commuter/Passenger. He was appointed to the position of Grand Lodge Representative in 2011 by President W. Dan Pickett.

    Joe Mattingly was re-elected Vice President Midwest by acclamation.

    Mike Owens was re-elected to the office of Trustee by acclamation.

    Gus Demott was re-elected to the office of Trustee by acclamation.

    John McArthur was re-elected to the office of Trustee by acclamation.
