  • Information & Resources on
    COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
    Updated On: Mar 66, 2020
    What You Should Know

By now, we expect you have heard about the Coronavirus that originated in China and has been spreading globally even to the US. First, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) believes the risk of getting COVID-19 in the United States is currently low. However, the CDC has published a one-page Fact Sheet to help you avoid unnecessary fear and better understand preventive actions you can take along with the symptoms associated with the Coronavirus.

    Concerned About Symptoms?

If you are concerned that you or a family member may have symptoms, Railroad employees and their covered dependents have access to Teladoc, where you are able to have a virtual visit with or talk to a U.S. board-certified physician, 24/7, from your phone, computer or tablet. Teladoc doctors can answer questions about the Coronavirus, evaluate your risk, provide support, and help with next steps when necessary - all by phone or video. Go to member.teladoc.com/railroad/ or call 1-800-Teladoc (835-2362). (If you have never registered to use Teladoc, we would encourage you to register now rather than waiting until you actually need the service.)

    Prevention Practices

As with any potentially contagious virus, like the flu, it is important to follow good prevention practices, including:

    • Hand washing with soap and water for 20 seconds or use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
    • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
    • Cover your nose and mouth when you cough.

    Updates Provided Frequently
