There’s been a lot of noise in the media about the Republican tax bill. In fact, the administration repeatedly has claimed that its tax bill, if passed, would mean about $4,000 more in the pockets of working families because the corporate tax cuts would "trickle down" to working people from the top.
Working people want to see that in writing
The Communications Workers of America (CWA) recently called on major employers of workers it represents to commit to that raise on paper. The labor movement joins CWA in calling on all working people to sign a petition putting politicians and corporations on notice. It’s time American workers get the raise we’ve been promised.
This campaign is pretty simple: If corporations and the rich get a tax cut, then working people should get a raise.

Republican lawmakers tell us that if their tax bill is passed, corporations will use money from their tax cuts to bolster wages and job numbers. However, economists fear the tax cuts may be used to funnel more money to corporate CEOs instead of working families. Or worse yet, that new tax loopholes will be used to outsource American jobs. A whopping 62% of the tax breaks in the proposed legislation go to the wealthiest 1%.
Extreme legislators and corporate lobbyists authored many of the economic policies that have rigged the game against working families. Now it’s time for working people to hold corporations and politicians accountable.
